The Big Three

The Big Three finally and definitely need a break. The loans (loans that is) are a necessary compliment to them. For years many of the Asian manufacturers have closed out the markets they have to the outside. It's high time our gov't did something for the Big 3.

The fact is that when governors, senators, and other politicians are courting foreign manufacturers, they give them huge tax breaks. And these are for jobs that paid less than the American manufacturers pay.

Another side of the coin; millions directly or indirectly rely on the American manufacturers for their substinance. The Big 3 always pay much more in taxes than the foreign implants. Not to mention the American content in an American auto is much higher than the foreign counterpart.

Lastly, when the foreign manufacturers see that the market is soft, the first plants to dismiss workers are not the ones in their home market, but the ones in America. And these were the American jobs that were wooed by the politicians in the first place with heavy tax reductions.

It only makes sense that the American three manufacturers receive these loans. Let's face it; it's absolutely ridiculous to think they can work on higher technology and move forward, by paying exhorbitant interest rates from the junk bond market.

Human Nature And Oil

When oil starts to go back down (eventually) we'll see operations and production of larger vehicles resume (as usual) on the supply side and consumption (of the same) resume on the demand side. It's just a matter of human nature.
